Dexmet Cathode and Anode Materials for Lithium Ion
Dexmet’s expanded metal foil is designed for production coating with both horizontal and vertical coating systems.
The testing performed by NEI Corporation, of Somerset, New Jersey, is indicative of some of the promising potential our expanded foil may offer towards improving battery performance.
The cathode testing summary was as follows:
- 95% active material NCA
- 2.5% binder (PVDF)
- 2.5% conductive carbon
This led to a 25% increase in capacity and loading increases were:
- 24.5% gravimetric
- 22.0% volumetric
Development of Alternative Anode for the Next Generation of Li-Batteries.
Universities, research institutions, and battery materials developers around the globe, are presently evaluating Dexmet’s expanded foils.
Dexmet, has also developed 25 micron thick, expanded copper perfect for Lithium Ion anode. This has also been thoroughly tested, see the results below. The testing was done by Frontier Applied Sciences and Technologies, LLC in Detroit, Michigan.
The fndings were as follows: Effect of current collector on performance of Si-CNT composite anode. The interlocking of the composite anode with the CC micro-grid has significantly improved the performance of the Si-based anode.
